Did a couple of laps at the lake today and spotted these guys enjoying an energetic day of fishing

I had been hearing a kingfisher for a week or so, but couldn't spot it. As usual, it took great glee in frustrating my attempts to get close

I finally managed to sneak up on it long enough for a decent shot

I am getting very sporadic results with the d500/tam. There is a definite discrepancy between the focus point I use and the focus point indicted in the image review -- the latter always one square below where I was pointing. The auto focus, which was astoundingly fast, is now only slightly better than my 5300 and certainly doesn't hold like it used to. I have a call in to Nikon and sent them images to see if I am nuts or what. If what, back it goes to the dreaded SquareTrade. . . .
