Colorful mandible, at least I think that's what it's called.

One of my favorites -- Dandy or Bold Jumper (Phidippus audax). When threatened, they will rear up on their back legs and really flash the fangs. Never got that shot, but here's hoping.

Well, my term at Hort is over and I managed to get all my plants tended to before we closed today. Time for a beer. . . or two. . . or. . .

A very rare visitor -- he must have heard the high school ag fields are busy with mice. Unfortunately, I had to shoot through a chain link fence, so the focus is mushy.

Went to the Arb today and got run over again, but with nothing damaged this time. This wren came running up the path, paused to glare at me for a second, then ran over my left foot and into the bushes behind me.
