Wowzers Don, I always wanted my own studio. Being a Photographer for 20 years really is the reason you are Super Moderator of the site. I am truly humbled by your praise of my work.

Not always a photographer but in photography. I was in lab management for most of that time. Just a photographer only for a few years. Had to drop the freelance work since most of the time I was traveling 7 states between labs 5 days a week.

So you know all about working in a photo lab. I worked with the big Kodak Machines and the big magazines of photo paper. I did, print and copy. I didn't like working in B&W and sepia, it stinks! I also did quality check. I worked in the dark rooms for many years. Then I finished my degree and started teaching.

I worked in 1 hour photo labs. 1st at One Hour Photo in Tuscaloosa and then took over three other labs for that company then they sold out to PhotoWorld and I ran 6 labs for them at first and then when to 18 labs. They merged with CameraAmerica and I went from 18 to working in over 100 labs over the southeast. I then bought two labs in Montgomery Alabama. After a few years I was the writing on the wall and knew that film was not the place to be. I sold out while the market was still pretty good and went to work for CPI Photo Finish which was a division of Sears Portrait. They bought out Fox photo and became the largest lab company in the country. Stayed with them for about three years and decided to retire for the first time. They went out of business about 2 years later so again my timing was pretty good. I loved the business and really miss it. After all this I did not touch a camera for years. Just got back into it in 2011 in any kind of a serious way. That was when I bought my D3100. the rest you can see here on the forum.

That is an awesome story. It seems that you are successful with what you do and them get out at just the right time. I was already teaching when Digital came along.

I agree, I was just trying to fix the shots that I had. I will go and reshoot and make it great.
