This is my follow up to The Moab's last post. Do you know what a group of Blackbird are called?

They are called a cloud, a cluster or a merle, but I think you are going for the word murder because I think those birds are actually crows, which would be a murder.

I will definitely be going up there again. I intend to post more shots of this beautiful place.

I think we are all wishing for a little summer right know. I suffering with cabin fever.

i am sure yous are, but not me, enjoying this cooler weather, was a cool 75 today, which is just perfect, all the visitors from the East of the country were enjoying the heat, getting thawed out before they return home.

75 degrees. That is nothing. We were a smoking 29 degrees today with a little bit of snow.

One of the best shots of my early days with Film and a darkroom was a photo of my wife sitting on a ledge on a cliff. Waterfall in the valley below and a perfect day. I was so excited to get home and develop the color film and make the color print at home. 34 years ago this was not easy and it was not cheap. The exposure was perfect, the print was perfect and I was so excited. I hung the print up to dry and left the room. Went back later to get the print and show it to my wife. The first thing she said was that would be really great if it were not for the cigarette butt on the ground in from of my feet. There was no Photoshopping it out of there and no real way for me to remove it. That one thing taught me to look at the entire shot and not just the subject. I still get that "Cigarette butt" in a shot now but I still try very hard not to. Same goes for the tree growing out of someone's head or that pile of snow.

I too remember the old days of film photography. I worked as a lab technician in a photo lab. It was really pricy to even process my own work. Then there was the limitation of 24 or 36 shots per roll. We are so lucky to be photographers in the digital age. This 365 project would have cost so much that only the wealthy could have participated.

I was so pissed that I threw it in the trash.

I did find a photo taken that same day at my mom's house this week. Planning on scanning it this week

I would really like to see what you do with the photo. That sounds like a fun project. I have scanned most of my old shots too. But, I haven't retouched any yet.

I was so hooked on photography that I built onto my house and added a full custom darkroom and office. It was by what probably would have been a den but I turned it into a studio. It was great to have that. I started doing color at home and since this was before one hour photo labs I was able to shoot, develop and print color in the same day. I made enough money shooting for lawyers to pay for all of my playing. I was the only guy in town that was shooting and printing color. I was still working for the University of Alabama but was making more freelance as a photographer that I quit the university and did photography only for close to 20 years.
