Took this today while at a Philly SCCA event. I took over 200 photos, but I liked this one the best for some reason.
Manual settings - hand held
ISO: 100
Exposure: 1/60 sec
Aperture: 18.0
Focal Length: 200mm

I want that car!!! I'm not sure which is finer..... the car or the picture!?!?!

The subject that I chose for this weeks challenge was far far more difficult than I first thought. I spent hours sitting on the lawn under this swallows nest trying to get a good clear pic, took about 120 photos and got maybe 3 decent ones. There was also a biker rally in town this weekend, so I took some shots of them thinking they might be better for the challenge. I took maybe 8 photos, they all turned out great, clear as a bell. Then I thought "hey Kim, the whole idea of joining this group is to learn, and this is a photo challenge" So therefore I thought I would go with my first subject choice, it was a bigger challenge for me. :)
Ps: these guys are fast!!!!

Great shot and wise of you to change your mind and stick with your first choice. It is amazing how fast they do fly. I was trying to get a picture of some that were in a field catching bugs. I did not have any luck. Only got too hot.

Yeah, they can fly upside down, sideways, any way at all. Depends on the skill of the pilot.

Even before this photo I wanted one of these. I bought a Nikon instead. Here is some classic Stunt Flying, A little slow in the start but once in the air it “Takes off”

Thanks Jack for refueling this fire, I really didn’t need to see this now, this is just as bad as NAS. :p

Took this one this past Saturday. Did a similar shot last year, at the same exact location and to date it is one of my all time fav. shots. I revisited it because in the original, the foot was out of the frame. I managed to squeeze it in this time, but it is still a bit close. This one is far more technically correct than the previous one as well. Which is great because it shows my growth.

Oh and for what its worth, panning while a child is on the swing is scary....objects in viewfinder are closer than they appear LOL.

1/1250 sec.
F/2.8
ISO 100
17-55mm lens at 31mm

I started an rc heli club here in Calgary back in 2008. I was its first president, and I just recently gave it up to continue with photography. I sold all my "birds" to finance some lenses and stuff. lol I still love it, though.
