Story of a walk.

I took half a day of holiday to go walk on a trail:

When I saw the support I knew I had arrived:

So I found a parking spot and was already impressed by the scenery:

I came across some signs of abandonment:

I walked up to a little reserve of water:

Following where the water dropped of the rocks

I found what I had seen before and found some more wonders:

Tests just one other day:

Bokeh

I tried how stable I was in low light; 1/80 ISO640 should have given sharp, it didn`t, but I still like it:

I did several shots, but my CF card seems to have trouble in the D70s the last days, so they seem to have not been registered.

Sharp dressed Lily. I would now have one of the sharpest lenses ever with the Konica Hexanon 50mm f1.4 (I got a cheap scratched version), I`m having trouble from f1.4 to f2.8, but then:

Totally agree. Love the dripping water shot especially, but all are great :D Looks like a spot to visit again and again :D

Actually it is a protected natural reserve and essential for migrating birds in spring, I was doing a first check to be be prepared. So indeed it was to visit again and again.
My first shots of the dripping water were common and I saw someone taking similar shots, so I thought, I need to do better, ... think it worked.

Aperture test:

I did 2 series: 1.4/2/2.8/4 (just to explore the haze on my new lens)

Just cropped:
20141112-f1.4 first.jpg20141112-f2 first.jpg20141112-f2.8 first.jpg20141112-f4 first.jpg

Cropped and edited:
20141112-f1.4 second.jpg20141112-f2 second.jpg20141112-f2.8 second.jpg20141112-f4 second.jpg

where it looks full of detail but hazy at f1.4 SOOC, the hazy can be edited away it seems. Sure sharpness improves at f2.8 and f4, but after editing I quite like the f1.4 and f2 results as well, glow is normal I understood.
I really will need more experience to get focus where I want it, seems the focus is more to the back then where I expected.

P.S.: I did the same editing on the 4 pictures for comparison, certainly not the best editing.

Flower in Yellow:

also today:

This was a part of an experiment that just ended. The same, but then with Konica T2 + 135mm f3.2 with Fujifilm Superia 200 (expired in 2009):

My mistake to underexpose the yellow flower on the Konica, but was able to recuperate it well. Do not know why I felt like editing it darker then the Nikon one.

======================

That swan shot is lovely :D Well done :D

The animal was on a lake with difficult access, this is one of the only pictures where there was not a lot of greenery in between.

Night on the town.

My partner ill and having something to arrange, I ended up alone on Saturday. I went for a pizza and night photography.

The restaurant was in renovation and closed (did couscous in stead):

So lets take you in the alley just next to that:

You go to the castle and surrounding houses:

Coming back out of the alley you are on the main square:

To make it short, some more views of town (people do not believe you can take pictures in the dark, I showed them some on the screen and they learned).
