Maybe not a super picture, but it was the first time I saw this beast in the red version.

Just one more from yesterday. This butterfly had almost half of its right wing missing in action, but he was still managing.

Thanks Jen, Pete, Kim and Chris for your support.
Here's today's picks from a 30 minutes walk around the lake in Sherbrooke.

Great insect shots, Marcel! You can actually see expression on the face of that dragonfly!

Wow! Now that hair is red! Great shots from your walk!

It seems I'm stuck with this macro thing for now. I find it takes a lot of patience and it's quite something to just get the darn things in focus hand held at that distance. For this bee shot, I kept having problems with the flower moving until I realized that it was my lens that touched the flower when I tried to get close enough for focus on the bee… Enjoy

Don't like the first one, Marcel. Looks like it's been over processed, and not very clear either. Slightly out of focus. Love the second shot, though. :)

Sorry Jack but I have to disagree with you. The first one looks like a jeweled pendant. I would crop most of the blossoms out and call it done.

The 2nd one is a fly -- where's my swatter. :)

Ken, Jack was writing about the previous day's shots. The girl with red hair with her bird. I know, I know about this one. It was getting dark and as I was walking with my girlfriend we saw this person with the bird and the bird was just the exact same color as her hair. But, it was too dark and I only had my 18-200. exif says 1/5s at maximum aperture. So either I moved or the girl and the bird moved. I had to use a PS filter to try to disguise the motion in the shot. Didn't work that well.
I sent the girl the pics and she agreed to meet me some other time with better light (and I'll bring the better lenses too) for a shoot. It should turn out better (hopefully).
Thanks for your comments ( I really prefer comments to "likes").

Both shots are lovely, Marcel. Fantastic details on the bee and the fly ( . . . all I can can think of is "fly swatter" . . . I hate flies!)

What are you using for a macro lens on these shots?

For these 2 particular ones, I was using my 18-200 with extension tube (12 or 20 I'm not so sure). But I had the sun as a light source which gave me a little more DOF than usual.

Today's an undergrowth (HDR heavily filtered afterwards) that I saw going to my customer. So you get both for the price of one ;).

Enjoy and feel free to comment.

Actually from yesterday but still an interesting (I don't know what it is exactly) beast.
