This guy is a little all over the place. He makes a blanket statement about complaining about issues up front and then limits the support discussion to testing at extremes. I absolutely agree with the argument, but not the premise. Test charts are necessary in order to compare different yet similar equipment apples-to-apples. And while I agree with the statement about early adopters, I can't say that I've seen "recalls" of anything problematic recently from Nikon - the closest was a non-admission of the bad shutter/dust on the sensor thing with the D600. While the pervasiveness of the problem may have been overemphasized by internet forums (10 people bitch for every person who speaks up and says things are great), it was definitely a problem - and may still be. So was left-focus on the D800. Then there are designed in issues like buffer sizes.

But he has a point of people who look for things to complain about. Like me concerned being about him doing videos stoned like that. ;)

lol, yes. But, you gotta love the hair ;) By the way, did you have the "focus" issues with your D7K? I am thinking of getting one, but all the negative stuff i read about it, is giving me second thoughts.

You should go to his page and see why his hair is that way. Its a tribute to his Mom. He is right, in todays time we have so many avenues to complain that we blow things out of proportion. Test charts, thats one thing and I can see a need. But like he mentions here a dead pixels at HI ISO, I mean really. The issues to me with the D600 are a real issue, the issue with dead pixels at higher than normal ISO is stupid to even complain about. I am sure the left focus with the D800 may be or was an issue, not familiar, only read a few things about it. You know its the same thing as with any other electronics you buy, the Iphone had issues, Laptops have issues, TV's have issues. Go to the source and not the street to get things resolved and make sure its a real issue before you do take to the forums and bitch about it.

I really like this guy, I have learned a lot from him and his videos since I got back into DSLR's. I even refer new people to his YouTube stuff. As well as this forum.

Here you go.

I've always kinda liked that guy! I love my D7000 and no amount of other's complaints about it have ever given me second thoughts. I have eyed the D7100 and the D600 but I don't see the point in spending the extra money when my concerns are actually due to my own lack of experience. I think any issues I might have could be addressed through better glass. My camera is much more capable than I am.

I subscribe to several different internet photographers via Youtube. That Nikon Guy and Snap Chick are just a few, but Jared Polin is my favorite. He's usually on point and he's also from my neck of the woods -- Philly.
