We just did a trip in the states. We had an RV the first week and then an Altima 2.5s. I swear the latter didn't have an engine as the RV accelerated better. Even though it's not my favourite car, I was glad to get back in my Mercedes when I got back to the UK. I like the nice soft plastics in European cars, the nice standard features and the 100bhp per litre combined with 50mpg. Maybe I missed the point, but I just didn't get the 5.5l engine thing in the states.

All that said, I did see a few challengers and they do look pretty cool.

I'll stand back and await the onslaught :)

You have to drive one to appreciate it. The sheer torque and launch off the line of a V8 when the tires hook up is the allure. It's kind of like a Mercedes versus a Ford Mondeo. Sure. they're both cars and will get you where you need to go, but until you have the Mercedes you can't appreciate the quality fit and finish of a Mercedes.

To keep with tradition, we have to find a bear or a rare animal on every one of our trips. Since Moan Man was taking pictures of stumps. He volunteered to be my bear. Yes, he is standing up inside the trunk of a hollow out redwood tree on the west coast or maybe the times I have sad he is the size of a smurf is true. You decide!

Honey bear? Now that's harsh. That was my fight or flight after being cornered by the wife.

Heading out to shoot the Redwoods, I was really chewing it over in my head as to how I could capture the true size of these giants. I feel pretty confident I captured it. And because scale can be so hard to judge, if you look at the base of the tree you will see my orange creamsicle wife and I with our arms raised. My black shirt was a bit of a poor choice, but you never would have noticed me anyway next to the creamsicle.

I think you will be sleeping in the car.
