Our chariot. This Dodge Challenger is sweet to drive. Lots of horsepower, great looks, and fun to drive. However, the front passenger seat is not ideal for a wife that sleeps on road trips - she has a sore back from the seat. It's also a lot of fun to drop the hammer inside of a tunnel and hear that V8 roar. However, traction is less than ideal and there was a whole lot of wheel spin and tail wag.
The people you will meet along the way. This man was selling copies of late 1800 early 1900 photos from the early turn of the century logging days in Coos Bay, Oregon. Talking with the man he explained that his father had owned a film/camera store a long time ago. When people would have their photos developed he would often make a print for himself. His father had collected a monstrous sized library and now he was scanning them and blowing them up large to sell. We bought a few of the images.
So I saw this couple witting on the bench a bit down the street. The two start to lean in for a kiss when he catches me out of the corner of his eye as I start to raise my camera while he left her hanging mid kiss.
Shot this lighthouse at night and the conditions were perfect. If it weren't for the mist you can't see the light beams. However, every time the light would point straight at the camera it would completely blow out the light house. Solution? Long enough exposure that every time the light comes towards the camera you shield it from the light. I happened to have our binoculars and the black case made a perfect shield.
It just so happened that our first stay coincided with a kite festival that brings in from all around the world. I guess it's a big deal or so the locals told me.
