Well everyone I'm going to keep this short... I'm calling off my 366 for this year. I'm done.

I've been thinking this over for days and I finally realized it's what I need to do. The reasons are many but mainly I've decided to let it go because the thrill is gone; it's not fun for me anymore. The first year I learned so much about my gear, about composition, about my gear, about myself as a photographer, about my gear... And it was a lot of FUN. Recently however that enjoyment has just... Vaporized. My 365 has been feeling like a "chore" more and more often and I think it shows, frankly, in the quality of work I've been posting lately; most of it I'm really just not too happy with. Add to this the fact I'm picking up more paid photography work and showing more work in galleries and even a *little* of that takes up what seems like a huuugely disproportionate amount of my time. I really, REALLY had no idea. Then too there are techniques and styles of shooting I want to explore and experiment with and I want to delve more deeply into learning Photoshop and the list goes on and on and I said I'd keep this short.

So yeah... I'll still post to this thread on occasion, but I'm calling it on :: What's That Smell? ::

Now I'm off to do some of the processing I am so woefully behind on.

Sorry to hear that Paul. Will miss the shots... and isn't odd how the stuff we are dissatisfied with can still be so pleasing and instructive to others. Hope to see a few now and then. Always picked something up from them.

Sorry to hear this as I've enjoyed seeing your work, but it is completely understandable due to the time and dedication required to photograph daily. Good luck with the paid gigs and gallery displays! ;)

Enjoyed your posts here on your 366. Even though you are not posting daily here, I will still look forward to seeing your new endeavors. I always need the inspiration. Ha!
