Cedar Waxwing in our Walnut tree. Some birds come to the feeders. Others, you need to look up to see, and these are one of those. There was a pair feeding each other, but I could never get a decent angle on them when they were together. At least I got these.

Definitely blessed. Even the stuff other people normally curse for doing in their landscaping we welcome. We've learned not to plant things the deer will devour, keep a fence around the garden, and do a bit of "relocation" when necessary. Occasionally a field rat will piss us off for a while after we watch it kill a chipmunk, but hey, that's nature. Hakuna Matata, right?!

Living next to a field we not only get the critters we like, but the occasional one we don't like. One of them is a rat that has taken residence either in our woodpile or somewhere under the deck ... or both. After we spread seed it makes the odd appearance. This dove, as best we could tell, was doing it's best Karate Kid impersonation in order to scare the rat away. Nature can make us laugh.
