Amazing pictures, BackdoorHippie! This funny place reminds me of a danish childrens hour, the house looks so much like it - and "Teddy" (danish: Bamse), always have problems with the chimney: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-L7cMv4dAb.../s1600/bamses-julerejse_081296_ulla-voigt.jpg

There's this yard in Mountain Lake that's, well, unlike any other. I've never seen anyone in the yard, but I get this feeling that were I to meet them we would get along just fine.

(I don't get here very often, but lets just say she's never been dressed the same way twice)

I used Google - nellie dragojev. 5 down was an obituary pdf. Her name is listed on page 22 with date of death.

Which brings me to what I hate about "intelligent" search engines like Google and Bing. They keep a history of your searches and use predictive models to display what they think are the results you want first. I had to go 9 pages deep to find your link, Marilyn, and I only went that deep because I knew it would eventually come up - and I had to go through 7 pages that were absolutely irrelevant to anything that had anything to do with "dragojev", only a bunch of links to various "Nellie's". This occurred with search entries of both Nellie Dragojev and Nellie Dragojev Obituary.

The chimney is strangely familiar to me too. I want to say it's from Chitty-Chitty Bang Bang, but I don't know.

I had to laugh, but I passed a roadside shop on Sunday morning last that had some whimsical stuff outside that very much reminded me of this yard, and that was before I saw the bottle tree at the end of the outdoor display. It's only 10 minutes from this place, so I wonder if there's a connection?

A bit of a take on the first and current monthly assignments. And no commenting on what looks more "weathered"!!

If you're going on the photo walk in Princeton in a couple weeks, this is what I look like. I'm the guy staring in your window. :)

And if you need to know what I look like in B&W...

Great shot! Very colorful and detailed.

Thanks, grandpaw. We had just arrived at Bethlehem Celtic Classic after 15 minutes of looking for parking. Just as we were walking past where this high school band was forming up for a parade the director started issuing literal marching orders, so I took a couple steps backwards and squatted down just as he issued an "About Face!!". Right place, right time on a perfect day. That's 90% of it, isn't it?

Wow! Very interesting info! When I was in high school, our football team played the Bethlehem Liberty and Bethlehem Freedom high schools. Both of the Bethlehem schools shared a stadium which seemed to be built on part of a hill. Anyway, one marching band was fife and drums while the other was bagpipes--yes, marching bagpipes!!! :D

I wonder if this marching band was from one of those 2 schools. By the way, we wore similar hats with our marching band uniforms. Inside they were hard plastic around our heads making them VERY hot to wear. Love being able to see this band has traditional instruments! :)

Was great to hook up with Jdeg, Eduard and Hark today in Princeton. I've been frustrated for hours this afternoon as I cannot get HDR Efex Pro 2 to cooperate with Lightroom and/or Photoshop. That said, I decided to take a deep breath and to try the basic HDR tools in Photoshop with a 7 image series taken in Princeton Chapel. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with these in the Nik tools, but I'm more than happy with this rendering.

THIS is jaw-dropping gorgeous! Now I understand why you wanted to get into the Chapel during the photo walk because I've never been inside to see what it offers! Did you manage to get in there after the wedding but before 1pm?

Thanks, Hark. No, the wedding was still going on. When I finally found the rest of our crew I asked if the bride was out yet when they went by at around 1:15 and they said she had just come out. My goal was to get pics, and I did. Would have been nice to be able to submit them on the walk site, but that's OK.

I suspect that it would have been a bit of a zoo with a bunch of people in there as some would want shots like this while others would have been going after detail shots of the the woodwork and other things, so getting a clean shot like this may have been impossible. There was one other photographer in there when I was in there and we were constantly waiting for each other as we moved around in there. There is detail in everything. For example, at the bottom of the photo I posted you can see the edge of a pew just beyond the railing, and on the pew there's a carving of what I can only imagine is some saint, and there's one on almost every pew in there. Here's the detail of that one (poorly rendered without the Nik tools)...

I'm definitely going back at some point to see the inside of this Chapel! Wow! Such detail in their craftsmanship when they built the Chapel. :)

It may have been in another thread where you posted about the EXIF data date being an hour off--if you took a shot of the clock tower, maybe it shows the discrepancy in time between the EXIF and the time stamp?
