Stop Action Fountain in Lisbon

Not sure if this effect works or not and would appreciate feedback and opinions. I tried to use a fast shutter speed to capture individual water droplets on a fountain in Lisbon while blurring the background as much as possible.

I like the shot and I like the effect. As a constructive crit I do think your shadows are a little blown out causing a loss of detail that isn't helping the image in my opinion. I've applied a quick adjustment to the levels (shadows only) in this image. Hope you don't mind:

Actually, I did the shadows intentionally in order to exaggerate the difference between the foreground and background.

(Though I appreciate the feedback and adjustment attempt, I'd ask in the future that you respect individual Image Editing preferences.)

I assumed from that it was okay to edit your images. I apologize. I'll delete my post.

Perhaps mac and windows not conversing well since I have mac and it looks like your settings is OK for editing.

I like the frozen water drops. If we all did the same things it wouldn't be an art. I like the drops in front of the lovely background and I think you need the shadows in order to make the drops show up

Eduard, I have to admit that when I first looked at it, it didn't immediately "grab" me like your other photos. But for some reason, I kept wanting to go back to it and examine it more. The more I looked at it, the more I got the feeling of the fountain ambience . . . it seems to come to life.

So, based on the fact that I kept wanting to go back to the photo and was left with the feeling of being there (wish I was!!), I would say that your effect works. Nicely done.

Thanks Snappy. It wasn't until I saw the effect on the computer that I appreciated it.

Helene, I understand the lack of immediate reaction. I came back to it, too. The sunlight was so bright and I didn't want the usual "snapshot" of the fountain.
