Oddly enough the moose has been hanging around in the same area for a while now. Last Thursday I didn't see her but I did hear her weird sounds echoing over the half frozen river below and across the snow
Saturday I actually had my 70-300mm with me but there is so many twigs in the way I had to manually focus to see if I could capture her through the branches

:) haha Niddling I meant he's not unwell and he won't miss those bits when he is soon able to enjoy much more freedom, fun and socialization without them :)

But look how much Bur boy LOVES rolling and flinging that snow all over Don. He was a happy boy to be out in the snow and sun. Crazy dog has already shed his winter coat but just loves to roll and rub all over the snow, licking and flinging it everywhere. How do you capture a shiny black dog?? Well let him get covered in snow of course :)

More attempts at indoor product shots (sigh I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone of outdoor shots but my lighting and indoor attempts just don't seem very good)

Snow dump (street snow removed and trucked here or one of other 5 piles and dumped when it gets high enough to prevent visibility)

Beautiful morning river
NIK_5859.jpg

I know shouldn't shoot towards the sun but liked the frosty trees and shadows

Even more into the sun I know but found it interesting. In my full size you can see the steam rising off the open water especially up by the bend

Beautiful blue sky and water oh and blue fingers too :)

I've been trying to get out of my comfort zone of outdoor shots and started a photo project the other day to force myself to keep trying indoor stuff.
So this had me using different lenses and differing light and because I made myself do a project I couldn't just hit delete on everything Ahhh!
So here's how I make yogurt
Frozen milk
NIK_5834.jpg

Same milk thawed (this time I didn't add any light above)
NIK_5897.jpg

Milk heated slightly and carefully (window light only)
NIK_5902.jpg

Milk in ice bath before adding 1/2 cup of yogurt from last batch (window light only)
NIK_5906.jpg

Yogurt in warmer (this has to stay completely still so it's on my cheese making counter which is in a dark area with only LED under cabinet lighting)

Breakfast of champions :)

LOL 80 proof not a great idea when working with animals or driving so can't start my day with it :) A little polar ice, glass of sherry or wine sure ends a day nicely though :p

My yogurt photos less about my breakfast and more about trying to light indoor objects because pretty much I delete nearly everything I attempt to shoot indoors. I find indoor shooting frustrating so usually hit delete and head outside where I'd prefer to be anyways :) I make yogurt at least every other day so it is something I can adjust and try again

I thought I'd be finally caught up on my daily photos but realized I posted in my playing and learning yesterday. Oh well I was already out but I'm still trying to shoot daily unless feeling like death :)
So yesterday it snowed again so you get
