Thanx wthorson, I got the idea from someone else's 365 when the east was getting hit with cold. I got a reminder a couple days ago by someone else so visited the dollar store. I got some of the cheap food colour and 12'' helium quality balloons. I half filled the balloons so about 1.5 to 2liters of water, nice sized ice balls without over burdening the balloons. We're on well and add water softener salt so it may have made a difference in the freezing cracking IDK. I need a science teacher to explain what I did wrong 
The little snow bank I placed them on is about 30cms (12") high. I crouched down and moved around until I got a shape and lighting I liked. I much preferred the look with the sun behind me but I could not make the placement work at all. With kids and animals there is very few places without footprints or markings Seeing nothing but white out my window for 6mnths gets boring so now I have some colour in my front yard. Its warming up this week and we're in for more snow so we'll see how much they shrink in the next few weeks

Thanx Don I will ;et you know how many weeks they take to melt that is if my tall helpful male dogs don't speed up the process

Thanx sunset was a drive by shooting I had camera set up the way I wanted it knowing I would only get one the snap before I was in the trees again. I was quite happy with the way it turned out

Dark dreary snowy day
So very glad I do not live in town
Not sure which worse being responsible for keeping sidewalk clear but getting no snow piled up or being on the non side walk side with a pile of snow that won't melt until well into June and huge pile of gravel yuck

Yesterday was beautiful sunshine and warm lovely temp of 0C (32F) it was fabulous to put away the winter coats for the day
Walk down by and on top of the frozen snowy river
Note to self bringing loud energetic kids and dog is just a bad idea

Scouty happy to be off leash and relaxing in the driveway

Snowy and dark again today
So thought I'd finally try some close up stuff
No macro lens but put my 70-300mm, tripod, raynox and extension tubes to work while I played to see what I could see
One thing I learned is that if your subject rolls away on you good grief good luck trying to get find proper placement again AHhhhh!

I'm out of running for daily photos because I don't want to post the terrible attempts I snapped just because this past week and once felt better I hit delete on them. Will continue posting daily or as often as possible but won't be adding day etc because I skipped a few days
