Day #28
You might live in Northern BC if....
NIK_1977.jpg

5 logging trucks in a row and the first hauling a 2nd trailer oh and of course it was snowing

So I've seen some great feather photos but without a macro lens had to try something a little different. The dark dreary light actually accentuates the sheen on the Bronze Turkeys so decided to follow around the eldest girl with my 35mm.
Stuck between the crazy camera lady and the big thumping male on the other side of the fence

I know white stuff looks strange but its really long weird snow on her back. More like snow tubes than snow flakes

LOL yes her boyfriend was a 26lb Thanksgiving dinner last year yum! Her sons were more trouble so they became Sunday dinners. She's laying eggs again so she's got herself another Summer

We have tons of many types of pretty feathers but no macro so thought I'd do something else and try to capture the shine and shapes of the feathers on the live bird.

Thanx guys I think I did well with those 2 I really like them especially when not compressed and messed with to upload on here. They're just ice hanging off the back of our wood shed and I under exposed to help hide the ugly wood behind them :) It was bright out but no direct light so I was able to get away with it. The rainbows of colour that show in my original make it interesting

Day #33 playing with bubbles
Selfie framed in frost
NIK_2259.jpg

Only -14C so bubbles took awhile to freeze but here's some shots of the fun. When it would pop it would look like shiny rainbow looking cellophane wrap and would float away shining. Eldest kid and I had a great time playing and watching them slowly freeze

Thanx Niddling I'm tryin :)

Michael my son has chickens that lay a few shell colours naturally. He gets blue, green, brown, speckled brown, white and a cream colour. Eggs are exactly the same inside its just different breeds lay different coloured shells. Soon my ducks will lay and I get pure black , green, blue and white shelled eggs. I'll have lots of egg photos in this thread I'm sure LOL

To couple more from today, I had one of those frustrating days! This morning I brought all the right gear except empty card slots and this afternoon brought 50mm and wide angle when I noticed this little family (Sigh) and wished for my 70-300mm
At the top of hill is the neighbourhood french elementary
NIK_2582.jpg

Why oh why do I only come across moose in the darkest areas possible!
2 photos below are crops
