SensorKlear Loupe Kit! Quick Review

I am off on a Photography trip in a week and I have been cleaning my camera and lenses, getting my gear ready.

I noticed I had some dust bunnies on the sensor and I purchased a SensorKlear Loupe Kit for $60. I watched a demo of it in action at a Trade Show I went to in the Spring and the guy at the booth even cleaned my Sensor for $2. Watching him, and the video, convinced me to go purchase the kit. Easier and cheaper than running to Nikon every time and losing a couple of weeks of use of the D800.

Worked like a charm! No issues, took under a minute for the whole process, no chemicals to worry about, the whole thing was a pleasant experience and my sensor is clear as crystal again!

Here is a link, start at about 1:50, the first part of the YouTube video is boring Blah Blah Blah.....

SensorKlear System - New Design - YouTube

Highly recommend the kit. If you get one, just remember, no heavy pressure, use a light touch and only move the cleaning pen in one direction, lift, go back and repeat until clean.

Have a question? Happy to answer or help in any way. Great product!

I have one of these kits. I got it from my local camera store along with some of the green swabs.
I found the loupe to be a great asset when cleaning my sensor, I used it when using the swabs as well.
I wasn't too confident using the lenspen , but I will give it another go when I clean my sensor next time.

Glen,

You are very welcome. I was not willing to experiment with a wet solution. I have an ArcticButterfly and that did not get all the dirt off.

When I watched them clean my camera at the Trade Show, I saw how simple it was and since no solution is involved, I committed myself to buying one next time I needed to clean the filter... which is now. So, I took the plunge. I was simple, worked without any stress.

Brad,

The pencil is a piece of cake, don't fret using it. A light touch, just stroke in one direction, left to right, LIFT, go back, press down gently again and again... Left to right, until the dirt is gone.

Blow dirt off the Pencil with the blower and put it away after use. Blow on it again with the blower before you use it again.

I had no qualms or issues using it. Easy to maneuver, you get used to it pretty quick.

Hark,

In Canada, the Suppliers (all of them..... Nikon included) seem to like to BEND US OVER, for a few dollars more. Even when the dollar is at par or stronger!! It is just what we do, here in Canada!

I will order with impunity from B&H, if the price is cheaper. They are an amazing outfit. $10 difference isn't enough as the postage will cost that. Big ticket items? B&H is my FIRST STOP for pricing.

I have visited them personally in NY and walked (well drove out) with a 50" Panasonic Plasma HDTV and saved $600! The Canadian Office of Panasonic told me... "The price is more in Canada due to the French Translations required". I said, "Really, inside my box are FRENCH, SPANISH, GERMAN, ENGLISH and ITALIAN manuals. Does it cost more to remove the others?"

Buy the kit, it is well worth the money. If you have some dirt on your filter and have to send it in to clean, the postage alone is a reason to buy. And.... AND!!!.... I don't want to give up the camera for 2-3 weeks! That is a big deal for me.
