Cheers mate, I am currently seeing if PS will do a better job with startrails than the free program starstax. Taking awhile to import ALL the RAW images but I think it will be worth it.

Just got back from a storm chase, unfortunately there was no lightning to speak of but was good fun

I foolishly bought a new tripod for the trip and then figured that was a waste because you don't ever use yours!

I do use mine alot, especially doing landscape and milkyway shots, aswell as lightning etc. The only time I really dont use it is with wildlife and macro.

There are only so many things you can do with out a tripod and yes you will need one for your trip.
