Must be the heat ;)

Sent from my Sony Xperia XZ

Well, when you think about it, you are probably correct there. Yours are lighter coloured, maybe more suited to a hot climate, ours are much darker, maybe more suited to a cooler climate.
There are plenty of cases that blow that theory out of the water, but it sounds good anyway :)

January 21st 2017 - The day of the big hike. We have been to Lower Motorcar falls a few times, but this time we decided to do it in the middle of the wetseason, humidity was more or less 100% with storms brewing all around and the temperature was around 34 deg Celcius. Perfect weather for hiking and carrying loads of camera gear and lots and lots of water.

Well after climbing and resting nearly every 200 meters due to exhaustion (HR maxed at 173bpm) we made it to lower motorcar fall where we jumped in to the warm water. Ah refreshing. After the relaxing we decided to venture to the far cliff and get some images during the breaks in the showers. Which most seemed to miss us anyway.

22nd January 2017 - Today was an easier day, we took a lazy walk around Nourlangie Rock. Weather was still hot and humid but was a good quick walk.

Some great shots there Scott. I love that last one, did you manual focus the Tamron ?

Cheers mate, i decided to give the Tamron a try again and found that if I get the focus close to where it should be then the auto focus will work. But if it is too far out of focus it does nothing. So it is still usable.

Beautiful birds those Redwings. Used to see plenty of them when I lived up in Weipa.

Yes they are, I have never had one land so close to the front door. This was shot through the window.

Thinking maybe I should set up a feeder and/or bird bath.

Well the focus was short lived on the Tammy, back to the 70-200 grrr.

Here are some from this afternoon, it has been a typical monsooney day with rain squalls and cloudy skies.

But even on a dreary day you can still manage to find some colour and brightness if you look hard enough.
