i went back up the hill to see the Owl and Hawks nest, one has finally hatched, a bit late in the day, but i will revisit sat when the light is better, and i have my tripod.
when i got out of my car to walk up to the nests, i got buzzed by a hummer, sat at me for a good 20 seconds, i thought he was going to land on my lens hood

I have had them fly right up to the front of my long lens attracted no doubt by the color in the multicoating, Also watched one fly from Christmas light to Christmas light on a string that I left up one year. I am sure he thought they were flowers.

wrong lens with me tonight, should have taken the 35mm 1.8, always good to see the boards breaking, especially as this was a no retest for this cycle, tested one day, promotions the next and they are moving studios today, so they have to clear the old one out.
