i was told this is a juvenile about 4 years old?

That's about right. They retain a dark eye stripe through their 3rd year and you can see the last remnants of that in the top photo once cropped. From age 3 to 4 is when the beak starts to go solid yellow as well. Magnificent birds.

Nice shots Roy, we had a couple of warm days and now it's going to drop 40 degrees overnight. I really am getting tired of this and ready for some nice weather to go shoot. I guess the only plus side is we don't have all the snow up north has.

It's nice to see that the weather is nice in your neck of the woods. I like the shots of the hawk and the series with the lizard and ant. I hope you know that you have to share the warmth with all of your Nikonites neighbors!

Sorry I haven't been posting, I have all my days to add, will get it done tomorrow, Rebecca and I are at Ojai where she came first in her class in the cali state finals, she surprised me today, she was trilled at getting gold in a class full of boys.
