I love the rich colors on this one.
i had a great shoot today, got one of the things i have always wanted to shoot, so only an eagle to go
other than a snake i have no idea, guessing 4-5 ft, not to thick around though, i had walked right passed it (within 3 ft) when i noticed the tail, pushed David out of the road and snapped away, first live snake i have seen (except pet stores), happy days for me, now onto that eagle......

I got quite a few Bald Eagle shots today too! Dunno about you, but I was beside myself in excitement!

All bird shots today at Lake Skinner
this is the shot at full 300mm, below is the cropped version
i had to run around the lake inlet to get closer for the last shot, moving in closer when the blue heron chased it, he was sitting above her nest.
i was told this is a juvenile about 4 years old?

this is the heron's nest that the Eagle was above, i was about 1/2 mile away when i heard all the cormorants squawking as they took of, i turned around and saw what i thought was a hawk, after taking my first shot and zooming in to check it, i new it was an eagle, a quick run around to a better position, few more clicks then another run to get closer still, the heron came back and chased it, there must not be anything in the nest yet as the eagle didnt go down to it?

Yup, a juvenile just about 1 season away from his full color. Nice catch, and nice shots all around!
