Yes, it is a gnatcatcher. It's part of the old world warbler family.

That moon shot is awesome. I would love to be able to do something like that. Was the blue done in post?

Thanks wendy, its only practice and use the settings others did, for this i changed the white balance to incandescent, camera settings are 300mm iso 100, 1/640 and f7.1, again using handheld i always wait about 5 seconds and my hands seem to steady a good bit.

Moon is easier than most people think. It is very bright. A lot brighter than most people think. Use your longest lens. Set it on spot focus and spot metering and shoot. set ISO on 400 to start with. Look at your results in the LCD. zoom in to it. Does is still look to bright? Cut the exposure by -1 and try again. Keep going till you get the shot you want.

If a newb like me can do it......

Though, mine were a bit blurry because there was a very light cloud coverage going on. Good luck!

I have tried before to shoot the moon, but I have had no luck. With the great advice I may get something good soon. Thanks for all of the advice and confidence.

You are not alone. I have not had a successful moon shot yet.
