Algae are not good at surviving without light (well, for most parts...), and the same goes for cyano bacteria. Plants are better at surviving for some time without light, as they have the ability to store more energy to survive. This makes a 'lights out period' a really effective cure for algae issues. A lot of people have had good effect by turning the lights out for 3 days. The plants look a little sad after that, but the algae has gone. However to avoid future algae problems its a good idea to remove excess nutrients from the wayer, for example by making regular water changes@Vixen i thought they were squirrels? its seems ok, still trying to focus with the front button now and again, defo a plus for stationary subjects, lock the focus and shoot away, again i couldnt find a moving bird tonight, tried cars for the focus but didnt shoot.
@nidding turned the lights out every other day and it has done the trick, cant explain that??
