I usually have trouble with red roses but did like this shot.

My favorite roses are these old fashioned types

and in pink

The blooms on my big leafMagnolia are about to open

but the bud i am counting on to give me the best image is this one

First is this curiosity

Which withered and died within 2 days and the delicate blossom of the Jerusalem Dogwood

Although all were taken on the same day, it normally takes about 4 warm days to do this progression.

At our family's cemetery yesterday Let us not forget.

Downtown yesterday to see an Art Fair with many exhibits and musicians

but the coolest thing was this little wooden flower

and a variety of Rose I had not seen before

Just as I parked this fellow came out to claim a slice of bread someone let out. He retreated to the fence but then decided I was no threat and let me came within 3 feet. Good thing because I still had my nifty 50 mounted on my camera.

This post is for @Bill16. Remember when we talked about walkabouts the other day? Well I walked down to my library the other evening and was able to get this photo
on the way home Iran upon this odd fungus that was not there a day or so before and will probably not be there the next time I pass by.

And then on the walk in front of my apartment building I discover this alien colony

So whenever you feel down Bill, grab your camera and just go on short walkabout and see what there is to see.

Took the jet boat ride from Hawk's Nest State Park to just short of the New River Bridge. Quite exhilerating!

I do not know why these people are all smiling as it is obvious they are all going to drown soon.
