Posting late this week because I was on the road and had no way to post photos but this one was taken in the right time frame._AAA5480 - Version 2.jpg Anyone who knows where this magnificent structure is should feel free to chime in.

Well @Roy1961 you are somewhat close and@mikew nailed the builders. It' unique design allowed the Shakers much more effiency in the management of their milk herd. The barn is located in Hancock Shaker Village in Massachusetts

I photograph thousands of flowers a year without knowing their back stories. But this little, fragrant rose was grown in great quantity by the Shakers and from it's pedals they extracted their Rose Water which they sold for many purpose and was even used in cooking._AAA5532 - Version 2.jpg This one was growing in the garden at Canterbury. Shaker Rose Water can still be purchased from the Shakers at Sabbath Day Lake Village in Maine.

Only one thing of any significance this week, the baptism of my friend's daughter Lillian Grace. This is her enjoying a brief nap after a strenuous day._AAA5836 - Version 2.jpg

Thanks Mai. She is a lot cuter with her eyes open but I learned a long time ago to not disturb sleeping females. They can get quite cranky.

We can! But babies and puppies are amazingly sweet when sleeping ;)

Went off Thursday for a little R & R after a particularly bad week. So off to Alpine Lake, West Virginia to recharge the batteries. And stopped at Cooper Rock State Park along the way._AAA5983 - Version 2.jpg

The past week has been consumed with chasing the perfect shot of the cannas I've grown outside the door to my apartment building. At least one photo will grace my walls later this year. Here is the latest candidate. I do promise though not to bore you with any more my horticultural accomplishments this year, maybe._AAA6137 - Version 2.jpg

Well, I lied. The death in our family Has taken precedence over photography this week but I did get a chance one day to play with my 60mm micro so one more look at my cannas._AAA6149 - Version 2.jpg
