Day 87 - March 28th, 2014..... Happy Friday! Nice to have the work week over.. 97 days until retirement ((69) working days, not that I am counting... :)

Dreary, gray, damp & rainy day. Windy too... I went out to take some shots and no wildlife or decent scenic with the weather... The wind (and low feeders) kept the birds away from that location... I decided to get some textures and other items out to Horseshow Pond...

These guys were well across the pond so I could not get a very good shot...
Hoping to catch them closer on another day...

I took a break mid morning and took a drive to try and get some photo's..... Right out of the barn, spotted this plow blade, I am taking this shot as a symbol of Winter finally waning here! (hope I am right!) :)

Day 89 - March 30th, 2014..... Heavy rains today.... Took a couple shots at the house then took the camera with me when I went to the gun store. Weather was gray and poor lighting. I spotted a beaver and a couple Herons at Horseshoe but could not get any keepers.... I did manage a couple others though...

1st 2 are a couple in my back yard... They show the receding snow line.
Spring may be here soon! :)

Looks like someone is prepared for an assault on the local trees.
These were just parked in a vacant lot, no one around...

Souhegan River... slightly swollen from the snow runoff
and all of the heavy rain.

Happy Shooting!

Day 91 - April 1, 2014.... Part II At my break I headed down to the bird feeders and Horseshoe Pond... The feeders were void of feed..
The birds were around but unable to get any decent pics... Then over to Horseshoe... The ducks were WAY Out so unable
to get any pics of them... went down to the boat landing and shot this...

DSC_8237.jpg

As I was heading out, I spotted 2 swans across the pond.... I turned around and
went back down by the landing and got the following....

Day 92 - April 2nd, 2014.... Decent day out again... don't want to say to much for fear Mother Nature may reach out and slap me! :)

1st shots are inside using the Tokina 12-24mm lens on the D7100...

Machined plastic parts stacked at the machining center...

DSC_8254.jpg

Samples of Laser Marking - a new feature we can now provide
to the parts (logos, stripes, part numbers all laser etched)

DSC_8255.jpg

Back corner, caught my eye for the colors and order...

DSC_8256.jpg

At break, headed out to Bird Feeder... Guess What? Someone took the feeders down!!??
Plenty of birds having fits! This is the best I could get as they were not still at all!
Now using the 55-330mm lens

DSC_8259-Edit.jpg

Went by Horsehoe, saw ducks (weird with a "mohawk straight back) that were
diving underwater, Swans way too far away (waited but they never came my way)
and some mallards that were close enough but in the shadows of the swamp which
is now flooded.... Could not get anything except this sun filled bark!

Looks like things are getting a touch warmer your way Pat. Nice shots.

They are warmer Steve! Dont say it too loud though.. :) the last 2 days have been in the 50's and the snow is receding. I almost have enough room in the drive to get the motorcycle out! :)

Thank you!

Great shots Pat, I am slowly catching up on every ones photos.

Thanks Scott... been in a bit of photo funk lately... outdoors is so ugly now, remaining snow is dirty, not pretty - not much color to anything and limited time during the week. I am so looking forward to spring when I will have better opportunities!

I understand the limited time thing as I really only get a chance on my week off, as when I am working all I do is sleep and work 12 hr shifts. But I am still tempted in buying a P&S camera but just not sure which one, need to do more research. Soon it will be the dry season with an influx of tourists this will make getting shots of waterfalls with no one in them tough, but thats what early mornings are for ;)

The last 2 are of the swans... I waited a bit for them to swim close enough..
Scared myself when I moved near the show and startled the beaver!! :)
