Day 303 - October 30th, 2013.... Part 2!

I managed to get out at lunch today... was not very bright out (gray cold and rainy) so I stayed close by stopping at a cemetary & Horseshoe..

HP had nothing, I had my long lens but no ducks at all... took this berry shot...

2 shots from the Cemetary.. 1 of a real old section and one in the newer section (1840) of a Civil War Vet

As I was heading out from the cemetary, spotted this bridge... went down took the shot and went on through.
I used to go down here a few years back when I was training for an Off Road Motorcycle Adventure.

Very nice! How are you lighting these at work--just the lights in the room, or are you using any accessories?

Hark, no additiional lighting, just the room light (high bay). I added no additional light... the golden color is the EDM fluid and that worked well... As I mentioned, ISO 6400 was not ideal but it is what I needed with the 18-105... I may try again this week with the 50mm f 1.8 if the machine is still running tomorrow or friday.

Thanks for taking the time to look...

Nice shots Pat. Like the RC shots and always enjoy old cemeteries. Have spent many hours with my son going through them doing family research. The name on the stone really intrigues me.

Thanks Alan,

I want to go back when they have multiple plans there and I will get in closer ....

The stone caught my eye because it listed his unit etc... I would like to go back when I have a little more time... I found an old one in Hudson NH also.

Did you find R/C planes are easier to shoot than birds in flight? For me, not at first, but I'm getting better (with both).

I love your berry shot Pat, it might be worth it to try and process it a little more just to get the background completely white. I think it's a great composition and an attractive shot.

Marilynne, it felt easier to me... but that is likely only because of what I have learned from you and others on birds.

Thank you for that! :)

Thank you Marcel... I appreciate the kind words but also (and more so) the improvement suggestions. That was a greyish blue ugly sky... I will give it a shot and see what I can do, I agree it will help it!! Thanks!

Marcel,

I think you were absolutely CORRECT!! I thought it looked pretty good but after your suggestion, I went in and tried it and it POPS! (I did it in Lightroom, PS maybe would do it better). I also cleaned out a couple stray leaves on the left...

See the Before & After...
