Day 201 - July 20th, 2013....

Ok folks, time to begin catching up.....

Saturday we grabbed breakfast at 6:00am, then took off to Buffalo NY from NH. We crossed NH, VT and then dropped down to the NY Throughway (I90) just past Albany. We arrived at the Hotel in Buffalo at about 4:30pm.

This was at a break that we took in Wilmington Vermont....

When jason and I arrived, a friend Brian from Baltimore was on his way and so we waited and went to dinner when Brian arrived. The next morning we would be up for breakfast at 6:00am.

For Dinner we returned to south Buffalo near the host hotel... 14 of my friends were riding what is called the
Great Lakes Challenge... Circling the Outside of all of the Greal Lakes (about 2500 miles). The dinner was a sendoff, challenge rules review and signout and Odometer check.

Getting ready to leave Sal's for dinner... some of the bikes in the parking lot.

Day 206 - July 25th, 2013....

Happy Thursday everyone! Today I took the D5100 out, I wanted to try something with the tripod and it was all set up with the QRP...

any how, here are todays pics....

1st, a couple product shots....

DSC_8633.jpg DSC_8634.jpg

At my break I drove over to the Ponemah River... shot the following..

DSC_8638.jpg

Now, we all know that did not need a tripod! :) What I wanted to try was to get the smooth water that many others have
achived here. With a neutral density filter.. I shot the following 2...

The 1st is at a 3rd of a second..... I think it is the better of the two (in my mind)

DSC_8640.jpg

this was at 1.3 seconds......

DSC_8639.jpg

Not claiming any great images here.. :) just wanted to try this and see how it works..
I obviously need to do a lot more practice but was at least pleased that I was able to achieve the affect.
(I only had time to shoot these 2 before heading back to work)

Thanks to those here that inspired the attempt with their work, especially Rick M and Dave W. Now to find some more waterways and practice!

I obviously need to do a lot more practice but

Hi Pat,

This statement is wrong!

You went through the whole thing with method and good understanding, I is not
a lot more practice you need but clearer waters in a nicer set up! This is your
chance for another bike tour!

Well done, Pat!

Pat nice shots, I've been wanting to try the water shots too, but I have been just to busy at work on the road to stop and take a few photos of the moving water.

Thanks Donald... I had limited time so only shot the 2 trys... I plan to get out some weekend and get a good location setup and try again with more time!

It was fun and learning new techniques is great!
