Originally I posted this in the Bridge thread but decided to move it here instead since the subject is really the water.
This is a different shot of the Trenton Makes Bridge than the one I posted in the January monthly contest.
If you look closely, you will see pieces of ice sticking up above the rest making the surface VERY rocky-looking. While photographing the ice jam, I could hear the sounds of ice forming. It wasn't from pieces of ice hitting one another. I *think* the ice gets formed from underneath as the water freezes which then pushes the ice higher than the surface of the water.
And below is the Route 1 Toll Bridge with its pilings surrounded by ice.

Yes, it was very cold--taking the photos on this cold day is what prompted me to ask about the LCD screen over in this thread:

At least the photos turned out nicely, and I haven't noticed any adverse affects to my camera although in the future I will be sure to keep it in a case except when I'm ready to shoot!
Here are a couple more shots of the river taken in Yardley, PA. This first one is the Yardley Railroad Bridge. I have another shot of this bridge taken back in the 90's that I really like. The problem now is the overgrowth on the bank prohibits standing in a better vantage point. As it was, I had to climb down a steep embankment to get beyond the overgrowth. Fortunately there is a fenced in power plant to my right so I held onto the fence on my way down and back up the embankment! The snow and ice on the bank made it somewhat slippery, but it wasn't a problem holding onto the fence.

This is the place I went to on Sunday. It is called Blue Springs.
The photos are NOT great in terms of composition or of any technical merit. What I am trying to portray is the incredible colours and clarity of the water.
I have done very little post processing on any of them.
