​BTW, If you move the smoothing slider more to right, it will help reduce the haloing effect in shots including the sky. I find that the most challenging part, balancing the sky with the desired effect

I agree. Smoothing out the highlights sometimes takes away the effect in places you don't want to. So it's like you have to make choices.
