Christine, I just want to say that your WWII reenactment shots are absolutely gorgeous and very "authentic" looking. Almost looks like time travel! You seem to have a very good eye and talent for capturing human moments. Your photos carry a lot of sensitivity and sincerity. Nothing looks staged. Outstanding work! Keep it up!

This is my very first train picture that I have ever taken, However I have seen Rick's work and he was pointing me in the right direction today. I like this shot and can not wait to see what I come up with tomorrow.

This shot was a hard shot to take, we went to this WWII museum today which by the way was really cool, However the place was so small it was crammed with all these neat tanks that yes they all move. The museum is only usually open by appointment only but because of Rochelle's Rail Road Days they were only open for 2 days and short hours too. But this place is really small and hard to move about in there next to impossible to shoot photos too. I enjoyed myself and I can not wait to watch this baby in action on September 25th for the next WWII reenactment.

Cool shot.

Interesting, I have no idea what a tracked vehicle needs front wheels for????

With the soft top it must be designed to run in inclement weather, but it would probably sink like a rock in snow.

The front wheels are for steering. These tracks did NOT run independent of each other. They ran in tandem, therefore they would not provide any steering capability by changing the speed of each track.

Hope this helps.

No, just curious. If the tracks do not control the direction of travel and are just for traction, then it would seem like turning would walk them right off the tracks.

It is a curious looking vehicle and must have been designed for a specific task. Just have no idea what that would be??
