Day 315, 2013 - A New Macro Spider Shot - That you can't see.

The picture you don't see below is the one I wanted to take today. If you look closely at what you don't see it's a really cool jumping spider that looks very crab like in the way it carries its legs. It took a lot of cropping down to get it big enough so you can see the detail in the photo that is not there. And the reason you can't see the photo? Moab Lady, in her attempt to assist me, slid the glass that was sitting over top of the spider you don't see pictured here and mangled the poor guy.

So what you can see here is a cat.

Wow you sure take some awesome photos my friend! I even like the spider shot I can't see! Lol :D

And that is the best part about my latest photography endeavor. If that spider shot isn't perfect in your minds eye when you don't look at it then it's clearly you and not the rest of us as I know that picture you're not seeing is PERFECTION that Ansel Adams would be jealous of.

Day 316, 2013 - Nissin MARK II Di622

Surprise from the wifey!

Because I won my local Scott Kelby photo walk one of the prizes was a year of lens, tripod, and flash rentals. This last weekend I picked up the Nissin MARK II Di622 for a shoot I had scheduled this last weekend. Early on I really liked this flash. Very simple, easy to use, and the flash and the camera communicated and worked so well together that it made things easy. Of course there are "better" flashes available, but it was so easy that I eventually fell in love with this flash. If I needed to make an overriding adjustment to the flash output it couldn't get any simpler than the rocker switch on the back of the flash to bump the power up or down in 0.5 increments. And the off camera flash communications worked without a hiccup. Finally, the built-in fold down diffuser worked well.

I can't speak from experience, but from reading online this unit reportedly seems to have power on par with the SB700.

Congrats my friend! My wife has already been good to me and let me get two Nikon's lately, so I better not suggest a flash yet! :D

Day 318, 2013 - Tree

It's getting dark so early so I'm having to look towards low light options. I liked the way the light hit this tree.

Day 320, 2013 - Sunset

Unfortunately, I couldn't get to a place for a better foreground, but the sunset behind me casting the colors on the mountain were beautiful.

There is something pleasant about that foreground, even if it wasn't what you had wanted. Sort of memories of the streets we all grew up on . . .
