Day 265, 2013 - Wasps

Had not seen a black and white wasp before. They were a noticeably bigger than our traditional black and yellow and the others seem to stay away from it.

Day 266, 2013 - Pear

The way I saw this, and the way it turned out, are not the same. It's my daily entry but I don't like it.

I also do metal detecting and I dug up an 1879 English large cent. I got excited thing it was an American one. Still my oldest find.
Day 231, 2013 - 1831 Large Cent

I was previously unaware of the existence of this coin until a couple weeks ago when my mother came to visit. It is called the American Large Cent - a penny. This coin is so large an American quarter fits inside the outer ribbed ring showing on the face.

Never had much luck with my metal detector. However, sometimes I think I may just go out and bury that lens.

Never like the way colors are so flat and dull on overcast days. Should have went into the studio to shoot something. However, rain is forecasted for the next couple days so in studio it is.

Day 268, 2013 - Death of a Season

I am a big believer in pretending it's not there and maybe it will go away. My wife and I try this thinking so desperately with winter that we won't even acknowledge that white stuff that falls and refer to it as sea foam. In spite of my ignoring the colder morning when I ride my bike twelve miles to work, and the fact the white balance in the world appears to be off because the trees are no longer the proper green they should be, it appears that summer is dying. The mountains out my front window appears to have the first sea foam of the season on them between 8-10,000 feet. If this sea foam creeps down 3000 feet more to where I live and I will truly cry. So here is my dreary picture of the day. On the top left you can see the towers that sit dormant for just a little while longer before they will spring to life for those with cartilage in there knee(s) and like to slide down this stuff. Below the towers, mixed in with the sea foam and underlying yellowish color is the first of summer foliage that has passed. Towards the bottom of the photo you can see the last vestige of summer color being chased down off the mountain.

All of you hanging upside down on the bottom of the earth... here comes your summer at the expense of us up north. No need to say thank you or anything. :dejection:

While some of you try and survive your warm temperatures, and mine continue to fall, here is today's picture.

Day 269, 2013 - Skeleton

Saw this little guy, barely over a foot tall, while visiting the Utah State University Museum of Natural History. Great place and I had too little time to spend there.

George, he may be small but I do not think I want to meet him! :)

Day 270, 2013 - Autumn Colors

Long day yesterday, catching up yesterdays photo.

Low on the horizon sun sliding under the tree lit up these colors beautifully.

Day 271, 2013 - Eve's Temptation

Saw this beautiful beam of light making it through the trees hitting this branch and pair of apples. Absolutely made them pop and the apples had a deep rich red to them.
