Day 114, 2013 - Full Moon

Lesson Learned: While full moons might look really cool, partial moons give a shadow cast to make the craters pop out.

Day 115, 2013 - Mosel Wine & Glass

Seen some great pictures of wine bottles on the site. Figured I would show the only one I have left from Cochem, Germany. Wines from the Rhine river area are in brown bottles and have appropriately colored glasses. This wine is from the Mosel region, hence the green bottle and glass.

The glass arent really working, I think, it looks to big or maybe its because its not straight?? The bottle stands straight, though.
Think I would get the glass closer or maybe just a little behind the bottle?

You're the first person to catch it, or maybe to verbalize it, but the proportions in that wine picture are all wrong. That wine bottle is only 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) tall. If you look in the lower right corner of the label it reads 11 ml.

Good catch Wud!

The lighting on the photo is as dark as it is to try and hide the texture of the black cloth the bottle is sitting on. In making this photo, due to the tiny size of the bottle, the weave of the cloth when lit brighter tended to pop out disproportionately large. It was a fun photo to do with things that aren't correct in size relative to each other.

Day 117, 2013 - Hanging on to Winter

Ski resorts are starting to close. However, I saw some kids hiking up the mountain to snowboard - die-hards holding on to the last of winter. So I followed them up the mountain to try and catch some action shots and the following is what I came up with (more pictures a few posts below).

It was actually 72º F / 22º C. The coats and all had more to do with landing in the snow than staying warm.
