Day Two Hundred Twenty

This challange is taking a lot out of me. I just realized that the last four photos (216 through 219) were labeled 116 through 119. All I can say is DUH!!!

Anyway. One of my grand daughters (age 7) painted me a rainbow. I thought it deserved to be here.

Ok, so after a busy day involving two trips to the vet, picking up two of the grandkids and taking them to Mickey-D's for a happy meal, then bringing them home (they'll be here till Sunday). I just grabbed my black backdrop, threw some cheap paper doilies on it and click click click

I'm not giving up. It's just that I'm running out of things to photograph. Who knows... One day I might post a plain white picture that is a shot of the wall in the office. A Picture is A Picture after all. Actually, I'm not getting the opportunities I had earlier on. Lately it's get up, go to work, 12 hours later come home, so I'm trying to find stuff (junk) around the house to shoot.

Oops, I forgot to mention this. The photo we all post in three days (Saturday) will be day 244 marking the fact that we are 2/3d the way through the year.

Day Two Hundred Twenty Two

Two shots today because of all the Twos in the day count.

First is a couple of small roses that decided to bloom in spite of all our dry weather.

Second is just a little one lane bridge on a dirt road I decided to drive down this evening.

A couple of shots of the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail Butterfly.

The first is the female, and the second is the male. Sorry I couldn't get a better shot of the male, but he was too busy courting all the ladies.

Day Two Hundred Twenty Four

Today marks the 2/3s point. Only 122 days left in the year.

First shot shown was actually taken last.

It was my intention to take some shots of my granddaughter's flip flops so I had my trusty kit 18-55 lens.

2012-224b.jpg

Before I could start, I saw what I originally thought was an unusual bug. Turned out the bug was a baby hummingbird. Just my luck Wrong Lens, and almost too dark. Thanks to a little photoshop I was able to get one (almost) respectable photo. To get the perspective, the flower was about 1" across.

Simple fun in the sun.

As for yesterday's "baby hummingbird" photo... I was informed by someone who may no longer be my friend that it was a hummingbird moth. I checked it when it came by today and photos I found on the internet and my almost friend was correct. Sorry Y'all

More doctor visits, more CT Scans only to get a "Nothing" changed report. Anyway Had to stay later at work to make up the time I took off so tonight I decided to shoot my new flash. Those were OK but I really liked this one where I set the flash to remote (25%) and used the onboard flash to trigger it. I kinda liked the way it turned out.

Within ten minutes, this area of the sky went from all blue to these building clouds. Once I get this posted I'm shutting down before the storm hits.

Day Two Hundred Twenty Eight.

I'm going totally bonkers. I just discovered that post #452 os labeled as day 226 but so is post #451. At least after careful count, this post is day 228.

After parking the car at work, I looked at the far parking lot that was lit up and it looked a bit eerie. I thought it would make a good shot but in reality it is just an OK shot.

Maybe I can do this again if I ever get some faster glass.

This is bizarre because I am positive I uploaded yesterday's photo yesterday. Can't find it today so I'll upload it again.

Yesterday's photo. Spent most of the day doing those outdoor chores you put off until they have to be done. Big thunderstorm started rolling in, so we had to improvise dinner. Luckily there was a Tombstone Pizza in the freezer. Anyway, they're tasty and they're cheap.

This is getting to be really tough. It's dark when I leave for work, and Dusk when I get home. I'm running out of little things to take pictures of around this house.
Anyway... Here's part of the deck umbrella after a rainfall.

Hangin' on. Almost all the leaves have died on this plant but there about 5 clumps of tomatos just like these shown.
