OK, so far, I've determined that I'm older than Mike by a year and a month, and Pete is about 70 something. Who else is gonna step up and admit to being young at heart? :)

Day Six

OK This one is Dakota. She's one of our three pets. Dakota is going to be 12 in March. She's a Labrador/Ridgeback mix.

Now Dakota has an older brother and a younger sister who will be in here sooner or later. There's also Dakota's real sister who stays with my Daughter in Fredricksburg but comes to visit periodically. She also will be in here sooner or later.

Dakota is a beautiful dog! :) I have small dogs now, but I sure miss my big ones! I had Chesapeakes for many years. I love all dogs! Looking forward to seeing the others sooner or later.

Day Seven

Can't believe I've lasted a whole week. This is a lot more difficult than I thought. Hopefully, once nicer weather gets here, I can get out some.
This is a piece my Son and Daughter gave me many years ago. It's titled "Brother Dad and Sis". Giving proper credit, the artist is Tom Clark.

Day Eight

Such a gorgeous day here today. Forcast for the near future is trending toward the Cold side.
I had to do it. I ran to the store, got the Burger meat, buns and fixin's and fired up the burners on the old Weber grill.

Grilled Cheeseburgers are my absolute favorite. If we get another nice day in the next few months, I'll cook again, but I doubt that will happen.

Day Nine

This little lady was there to greet us at work this morning. She was in a dark hallway and I actually walked right past her. I didn't have the proper lens and only had Pop up flash for lighting so I couldn't really do the shot justice. At least I tried.

For those of you who do not recognize the red hour-glass marking, this is an adult Black Widow spider. She is one of the most toxic spiders in the US. This one spanned about an inch and a half from the tips of her legs. I was able to get my 18-55 lens about 6 inches from her. That's as close as I wanted to get. By afternoon, someone had disturbed her web, so I'm not sure if they killed her or not. I'll watch for her and maybe get my close up lens if she comes back.

That was her lunch on the right

Thanks for the comments. Most spiders in the USA are not aggressive so I didn't worry. I was just very careful not to disturb her web. Speaking of web, I said earlier that Lunch was on the right... I see now it was on the left. Do I hear a big fat DUH!!!

Day Ten

Pet number two of three. This is Shylo. She hates the camera. I'm surprised she let me snap this one.
We got some bad news about her today. She had been feeling bad so we took her to the Vet on Friday. Test results back and we find that she has Cancer of the Lymph Nodes.

I have to talk to a different Vet tomorrow to find out what can be done. Looks like the NAS list will have to go on the back burner for quite a bit longer.

PS: I had a different (more whimsical) post but changed my mind. I think Shylo wanted to be here, otherwise, she would not have posed.
