Definately not visible in the 1:1 example. Don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining. I was just wondering if my eyes had finally crapped out.

Feedback is good Mike it made me take a closer second look at it. I need to do this more often and not to be in such a hurry.

Took so may shots for the weekly challenge yesterday and wanted to share some. Some looked great in black and white and some didn't. This is one I liked in color more than black and white.

This Civil War canon can be viewed at the Flagg Township Museum in Rochelle, Illinois. Inscribed on the end of the canon is "Fort Pitt PA. 1863 - No25 8445 lbs CPK". It was obtained by Civil War veterans who were members of the Rochelle Post 546 Grand Army of the Republic. (G.A.R.) The canon was originally at Fortress Monroe, Virginia.

Off frame in your opinion. I like the way the lightning is streaking in from the right. Too many trees and hills here to even think about shots like that.

From what I've seen on the news, I'm glad you made it through this latest storm.

Don't get me wrong I don't wish death and destruction on anyone my thoughts and prayers are with the people in Oklahoma and Kansas. But as much as the weather people talked up how we haven't had a set up like this in years I was disappointed how it played out in MY part of the Midwest. This will be the eighth year I'll be photographing Lightning and I'm a little anxious to get out with my D90 that I bought last year but had little time to get out during our peak time of year. I only been using Nikons for the last three years in place of point and shoot Kodak

My camera set up is fitting and working really well in the car that I'm using this year and I have added a new lens to the line up. So if I get a little excited or disappointed about storms this year you'll know why.

Anyone else thinking about this should be warned a head of time that this is one of those "don't try this at home things"

I 100% agree with you Rick...I'm not so sure about this new language they are using and all this get ready the big one is coming type journalism/sensationalism they are using...man my mother even called me Saturday afternoon to make sure we didn't get blown away...I said come on mom you know better than that...so now when the big one really does come all this crying wolf is gonna make people more insensitive IMO...what happened in Joplin last year was tragic but that tornado was so damn big you didn't stand a chance unless you were underground...no portable storm shelter or closet or bathroom was gonna help any of those folks...

Day 109
Tree Peony

I think this is a type of Peony but I don't know what it's really called. My regular Peonies are only half grown. These are dinner plate size and the bush is about 3 feet tall and in full bloom.
