Spent Friday and Saturday in a "reminiscing" mood, so the shots for those days are purely "moment memory" shots.

"Can we come in now??"

Helene, I gotta tell you the truth here......love the subject matter. Dogs are always a favourite of mine. They make great posers. :) However, having said that, this shot seems to be just a tad out of focus. Everything else is great......the comp, the lighting, the overall picture...it's just the focus that bugs me.

it's just the focus that bugs me.

Yep, I know that. Like I said, this was one of those moments I wanted to catch quickly because their expressions were so priceless. I didn't give the camera time to focus. Sometimes the moment is more important than the technique. This one goes in my doggie album for me.

Helene? How the Heck do you get your pups to look AT the camera???

Ours put their heads down and sulk as soon as a camera comes out.

It has to be the carrot or the stick. ;) But, knowing Helene a little, I suspect treats (dog cookies) should never be too far from the shutter.

NEVER the stick! I make it a game with lots of happy talk and silly sounds, take LOTS of pics, and follow with treats. Dogs are masters at association. If they associate good things with the the camera, they will eventually start to pose.

You have to know that I was joking Helene. I'm a dog and cat lover too you know.
I know you were, Marcel. My "other" calling is dog trainer/behavior specialist. I give private lessons/sessions for owners with "wayward" dogs to keep them from being surrendered to a shelter. I can't tell you how difficult it is to convince some people that giving your dog a treat is NOT a bad thing . . . sigh

The B&W is great on this photo. Nice perspective.
Thank you, Silvertip!

Jimmy to the rescue

I had everything set up for star trails, but the interval timer misfired and I got rained on. My D2X is one tough camera! So the star trails were a flop, my camera was fine, and Jimmy was a willing model!
