*wonders if she had Renoir paint it for her*

Sorry...sometimes I just can't help myself. To my credit, I haven't cracked an old age joke in your direction, despite many previous opportunities!

"Dreamin' "

Wreck at a welding shop. Thought it would make a great subject to play around with in photoshop. Initial shot was kind of boring . . . car colors are faded and I could not eliminate the cluttered background.

So, hdr with photomatix, and photoshop filters --radial blur and lens flare.

We all need an assistant, I am close to buying a flash, I will need help with all the accessories, I should start training my dog for that. Nice shot, Helene.

I was doing a photo shoot in the studio one day, and while we were busy in the main room, she had gone into the dressing room, had taken the wallet out of the client's purse, opened the wallet, and scattered all the cards and papers all over the room. Luckily she had left the $50 bill alone.

"Apples on Parade"

This is an example of focus stacking, which is something I've been wanting to try. It's similar to HDR, except instead of different exposures, you're shooting different focus points to expand the depth of field. I used 11 images --first focus was the front and last was the back. Then I used Helicon Focus Lite to compile the final image.

Great shot. Where do you people find all this software all the time? Seems like every month someone is using something new and improved. This is something I could use for a Model Railroad Layout I want to shoot. Now where is that focus-bracketing switch on my D90 LOL.

Couple of questions. No auto focus here I know but how do you know how to step the focus? What are the limitations on the trial on the software? Could not find it on the web site.

how do you know how to step the focus

Focus manually on the frontmost object and take the shot, then move to the next point, very small increments on the focus ring. You'll see through the viewfinder what comes into focus. So, in small increments, move to the back and final shot.

What are the limitations on the trial on the software? Could not find it on the web site.

The only limitations are when you save the completed image, it leaves a watermark in the center of the image. But it's very subtle. You can certainly play around with it without any limitations.

how do you change the focus points without moving the camera?

Jack, the first time I tried this (without this particular software --you can also do this using photoshop layers --but that's a little more work involved), I realized quickly I needed a focus rail. So I bought one from LinkDelight for $20.
I did not use it because I didn't have a tripod attachment. To my surprise, this software does all the work and very nicely. After trying this with photoshop, I was very impressed with what this software does. It even has a 3d and animation mode which is kind of cool.

Wow, that's beautiful Helene. It's very tough keeping up with you all, with the programs and equipment you use. I haven't even gotten an external flash yet and my laptop is running out of space for more programs. eesh!
