Day 261
Mom and Luigi

Everyone came out today to celebrate my birthday. I asked Mom and Luigi for a picture on the way out, so only had one shot to do this, wish I could have gotten this on a better background and on a sunny day.

I loaded up all three images into my HDR program, played around a little and didn't like it, looks better this way
Nice. Yeah I am not a big fan of most of the software. I have learned how to blend by hand and really like the outcome. At first it was way over kill such as the fence pic on my thread, but I am learning to tone it down and be selective of how the process is used. Often times I can get the desired effects I want out of 2 images as long as the exposures are set properly. Lots more control.

I personally Like what you posted. IMO a little dodge and burn tweeking would bring the scene to life.

Day 267
Walk in my shoes #2

Another one of those ideas that look great in your head but can't put it to an image. Not proud of this one, just a snapshot.

Think I'm going to have to change directions with this challenge and move on to something else. This idea is not working out like I thought it would.

Tyler is going to be disappointed, he's had a lot of fun being my model the last few days, even coming up with ideas like this one.

FYI Mom is just out of camera range looking out for cars.

Dude!!!

You have a fantastic shot there! If I may offer a suggestion?

Crop this shot until you get Tyler alone in the crosswalk. Look at HIS journey, not YOUR photographic journey.

Make the crop and you'll see what I mean.

Hope this helps. :)

Pete, Here's the crop to actual pixels. Shot at wide angle so not as clear and crisp as I would like. Really wanted the school sign in the shot. Just can't get that up close and personal feeling I want in any of the shots I've done with him. I've tried shooting just the lower half of his body from every angle high and low concentrating on his feet and cane and I seam to lose everything when I do that. Thanks for the input, were going to keep trying maybe sooner or later we'll get one. However we have rain in the forecast till Wednesday so we may be out of time. However that does give me an idea with the Mailman. :D

I agree with Pete. It is an awesome shot but needs to be cropped down to remove the distractions from it. If it was me and I was to re-compose it, I would have the sign / foreground blurred and the kid in better focus and clone out th power lines.

When I first saw the picture it said to me in a very loud voice that I need to be more cautious at school crossings.
