Thank ya, ma'am. Been going through a drought of feeling "not so hot" at this photography thing, but I keep shooting!

I know exactly what that feels like. I had it for a couple months, but hitting the farm market and finding something there seems to have kick me in the ass. Keep going, man. There's flashes of gold to be had in the midst of a drought.

Day 213 - "Meh" moon.

It's been hard to hold my hands steady lately. Gonna have to start dialing in on the tripod I guess.

Day 214 - In-camera HDR?

Ok, here ya go. One of these is in-cam HDR, the other is the same shot in RAW. Both SOOC... not impressed. I need to figure out how to mess with bracketing and see what can be done from there.

Can ya tell which is which?

Creativity does not work on a timetable or even appear on demand. It is certainly something that does not happen every day. So some days you just do mundane chores; keeping your hand in and when the inspiration comes you will be ready to embrace it. Constantly hone your technical skills but do not expect to create a masterpiece every day. But when you have mastered your craft then great results will follow. Remember what John Ruskin wrote; "the life so short, the art so long to learn"

I figure they smell pretty bad but what do they actually smell like?

The Spring of 1973, my brothers and I helped my dad build a fence up a rocky hill for a friend of his. While we were working a skunk sprayed something over the hill from where we were. We never saw the skunk, but had to leave the work-site because the smell was so bad, eye-burning, almost enough to make a person sick. I imagine the hill probably still stinks.:) <<just kidding about the hill still stinking.

That shot of the moon is fantastic! I hear you with the drought thing. Times like those are tough, but it is worth it to push yourself and keep working at it. I've always thought your work was very good, and you continue to get even better.

The smell can not be described.
The worst part is, that if you get sprayed, it is nearly impossible to get it off you for days.

Like the worst rotten egg smell you've ever experienced, multiplied a few times over and mixed with rancid vinegar.

I had a friend that loved the smell of skunks because it reminded him of his childhood living on his family's farm... Good times for him I guess...

Hehe....thanks for all the skunk smell advise. Guess I should be glad I am unlikely to experience it.

In camera HDR......I'm guessing the top shot also due to the extra detail and contrast but it is not a good advertisement for a camera feature. I'll stick to doing it in software with bracketed shots I think :D

Keep plugging at it Pretzel. We have certainly all gone thru stages of feeling inadequate & unmotivated in this quest. We are 2/3 of the way in.....we can do it!! :D

Day 215 - Shopping???

Tax free weekend, spent the day driving and following the wife around. She did buy me a nice "Life is better..." Sign for my end table, though, to thank me.

One of these days, Florida. One of these days...

Day 216 - Back to the good stuff?

So, one of my wife's friends had to rush out of town unexpectedly, and we're now in charge of watering a couple of cows she's raising (I've already named them Hamburger and Meatloaf), so while we were out there, I thought I'd shoot a few pics with this month's challenge in mind. I *think* some of 'em came out ok? Doubt any of this first set will turn into entries, but... I also got lost in toying with edits, so had fun anyway. ;)

Day 217 - Messin'

Had an idea I wanted to try, didn't quite pull it off... but hey, I've got a lot of time to sort it out before I abandon it, right?
