No rubber tires on this one. A westbound CSX freight with two SD40-2 locomotives doing the work. It's crossing SR 100 west of Galion OH. I've never seen a train here. As I slowed to cross the tracks I saw a headlight in the distance. By the time I parked the car & walked back the train was about on the crossing. They were really hauling the mail.

Caught some CSX action in upstate South Carolina on Friday. The train in the top photo appeared unexpectedly and I had little time to set up. Lighting on the bridge photo is never good because the sun is in a bad spot the entire day. Would be good to revisit on in overcast light, but this isn't a busy line and the wait for a train could be long.

In any case, it was a beautiful day to be out with the D5100 in hand.

I also found the nicely restored SOU depot at Prosperity, SC and hit paydirt at Fairforest, SC with an NS southbound.
