Post your Train shots!

I need a little help with an identification. Last Friday I was out & about searching for trains. I was in Bellevue Ohio poking around the Mad River Railroad Museums rolling stock when I saw a train roll out of the NS yard. No big deal I've seen many of them & they all seem pretty much like each other. Except this one had a splash of green paint on it. The chase was on!

I hot footed down the road to try & catch it at Attica junction. I did, but a northbound freight blocked my view. I headed south again & after a few more miles I finally got a better shot. Any idea what it is? I was thinking maybe it's some sort of slug or possibly a tender holding CNG?

Neat photos! These were a complete mystery to me too. Did some research and found that they're SD33ECO type and are numbered 6210-6214 with three more (6215-6217) on the way. These units achieve low Tier 3 emissions, hence the special paintwork.

They're rebuilt from old SD-40s and SD-40-2s and the work is being done at the NS shops in Altoona, PA. The odd-looking mate is indeed a slug and these too are created from old SD-40s.

The units you saw have a Georgia map on the hood and were partially paid for by Georgia taxpayers, and should be working there. Let's not say anything.

Thanks for solving the mystery Sandpatch. Those 2 units looked factory fresh & pristine. It may be possible they were on their way south to Georgia.

Edit: When I zoomed in on the image there is indeed a map of Georgia & Working Together for a Greener State painted on the long hood. Bet they are going to live out their lives in hump service somewhere in Georgia.

http://www.nsdash9.com/rosters/6210.html (WEB SITE FOR ENGINE) WHAT IS A SLUG (2 ND ENG)? FIGURED A SEARCH FOR SLUG WOULD NOT GIVE ME THE RIGHT ANSWER.

Here is another from Friday's rambling search. CSX eastbound freight through Boughtonville Ohio with 2 UP locomotives providing the grunt.

A few minutes later another CSX freight heads east.

I am sad. CSX's new CEO has ended hump operations at Hamlet, NC, Atlanta (Tilford), Louisville (Osborn) and Toledo (Stanley) in an effort to boost consist blocking and cut costs. The idea is to build longer blocks of cars destined for the same place. The resulting changes have rerouted the two daily freight trains I've enjoyed watching for over two decades. The trains now run on a different and distant line. :( My line now sees only one local weekday freight and nightly passage of Amtrak.

I guess the lesson here is that even average shots may be worth saving for the memories. I've been wistfully looking at my pictures of these "lost" trains, many of which have been posted here.

I'm hoping that the inevitable operational jumble at CSX yards might result in a revision and return of my trains .....

Here's one from March that I may not have posted before because of the harsh setting and poor lighting, a quick snapshot taken behind the Home Depot while I was running an errand:
