Post your Train shots!

Caught NS Train 156 headed to Charlotte, NC today. I was hoping for its southbound counterpart 155 for another shot I have in mind, but no luck. Anyway, it was nice to see something on the move.

I see some sort of green light flare appeared adjacent to the left ditch light. I try to avoid head-on shots because locomotive headlights and ditch lights are extremely bright and can play all sorts of tricks with cameras. I'm not good enough with processing software to know how to edit this out. Same thing happened when I shot Kodachrome; I'm assuming refractions within the lens is the cause.

I like your photo, but hate the graffiti. Train pictures I took 30 years ago were devoid of this trash. You're right -- if it sits, it gets painted by a knothead with a rattlecan.
I guess you haven't rode the NYC subway system 30 years ago.:jaded: It was much worse then, than it is now.

It's funny that you mention this because just over 30 years ago when I worked in NJ, a group of rail friends gathered up one Saturday and set out to ride in all five Borough subways. I do recall that the trains and stations were rather trashy in places, but it was a wonderful outing nonetheless. We concluded our day with a meal at Katz' Deli in lower Manhattan.

And to think that I moved from there to LA .... Lower Alabama ...... :D
