Was west of Charlotte, NC on Friday at Lowell, NC and was happy to find this vintage, unadulterated former SOU signal bridge and signals on the NS main. The sun was in a poor spot, but the shot was worth grabbing. These old signal bridges are becoming very rare, as modern bridges and signals are being rapidly placed. In the interest of trivia, the horizontal members of these old signal bridges are made from old flatcar spines. Railroads were recycling long before it became popular! I waited for a train, but without any luck. I'd like to return here again.
