Taken at sunset just south of Lexington Park, Patuxent River, Maryland.
We stopped to eat and were walking into the restaurant when I spotted this seagull perched on a dock back-lit with the setting sun. The only way to get the light lined up with the gull was to climb up on a rickety old picnic table by the water and handhold the camera while trying desperately not to fall in the water. While my wife and son were making fun of me. LOL

Often get similar here for sunrise shots, a thin slot between the cloud cover and the ocean.
