I was out before sunrise this morning and was surprised to see this. Sunrise was supposed to be at 7:05am. This was taken at 7am so no visible sun at the time - although the sun rose from below that spot. What would cause this pillar of light?

I would suspect reflections of the sun in the atmosphere.

That is very cool. I have never heard of a sun pillar before Cindy. Thanks!
