With the bluish back I'm going with Merlin
Absolutely. I was a little dense and completely missed the question of what the falcon was.

Take a gander at the weird colored redtailed. That is not a gyr or a prairie falcon for sure right? It was so high up and the way it was flying/soaring the wings never really broadened out. I would like some help with that id. Thanks.

Hard too tell but it could be a Krider's Red-Tailed Hawk

after looking at it again I think it's a Piebald red tail hawk

I basically agree with Kevin on this bird, Its got the rectangular pale area typical of redtails on its wings and in several views the dark patagial markings are visible.

Here some from a birder trip. I was unprepared and brought a monopod for my camera (D7100 w/ 600mm f/5.6 and 1.6 tc ). I had the iso low and was getting shake (way over 1000mm effective focal length). It was a 3 mile hike so I left the 180mm f/2.8 in the car. Had I brought it the owl and redtail pics would have been perfect. The harrier was about 1000 yards off and I was shooting handheld so they are bad.

This hawk seems to have moved in across the road. I'm happy to be neighborly and take his(?) picture whenever he is willing to accommodate me. Taken with D750 and Tamzooka.
